Faiz Al-Shahab
Managing Director, Co-Founder, e-Sentral

The front man of e-Sentral. Born in November 1979 at Manchester, England, Faiz has served his time as an automotive engineer in Europe before commencing a career in the Malaysian book industry in 2007. Prior to that, he read mechanical engineering at McGill University, Montréal, Québec, and Edinburgh University, Scotland. 

e-Sentral is a stand alone digital book platform which ranges from authoring tool to end user application and supply ebooks via multiple sales channel including libraries in South East Asia. 

Ren Dianshun
Executive Editor-in-Chief, China's Publishers Magazine

Dr. REN DIANSHUN is the Executive Editor-in-Chief of China's Publishers Magazine, one of the most influential cultural media in China. He is also the co-founder of Epuber.com, which was set up in 2008 as a consulting company. He has a good understanding of the e-book and digital publishing industry.

Mr. Ren is currently a post-doctoral researcher in Beijing University and China South Publishing & Media Group, and focuses on the study of E-book, Digital publishing and New media. He has published over 30 academic articles, and is in charge of three research projects at the national level. 

Malcolm Neil
Director Acquisitions APAC, Kobo

Malcolm has had a variety of roles in bookselling and publishing spanning over 25 years. His love of reading and the book Industry led him to join digital reading company Kobo at the start of the digital revolution. 

His most recent experience with Kobo has been in Asia, working with publishers and authors to develop their digital market. 

Vivek R
Head – Business Development, Trade Books, Flipkart India Pvt. Ltd.

Mr.Vivek heads the business development team for Trade Books in Flipkart that manages a portfolio of over 500 business partners in India, UK and US. He works closely with publishers to offer customers a wide selection and great service. He is passionate about forging business relationships that could help advance the shopping and reading experience for customers.

Flipkart is the market leader in the booming e-commerce market in India. With over 15 million products across 70+ categories and 18 million registered users, Flipkart is the 8th most visited website in India. As the leader in Books and Electronics retail market, Flipkart has taken the lead in eBooks market development.

Prior to joining Flipkart, Mr.Vivek worked with KPMG as a management consultant. He has advised clients in a diverse set of industries including Retail, Auto, Aviation and various Industrial markets on strategy and operations initiatives to upscale their business. 

Paul Singh
IT Manager, Harlequin Enterprises Pty Ltd

Mr Paul Singh is currently the IT Manager of Harlequin Mills & Boon Australia, the world’s largest romance book publisher. He has been working for the company for the past 20 years, and was part of the team which published the Bahasa Malaysia version of these romance titles in 2009.

The company had launched Harlequin Australia digital eBooks way back in 2007. They had also launched ePub and DNML eBooks on millsandboon.com.au in 2010. Harlequin Mills & Boon Australia was also the first publisher in Australia to make its content available for Apple iTunes store in 2010 and Amazon Kindle.

Mr Paul Singh was instrumental in developing the team and the necessary skills for in-house conversion of over 7000 Mills & Boon titles into the ePub format. He is currently working with ePub 3.0 and XHTL for future delivery. He had built the Australian digital catalogue (ePubs) into over 14,000 titles. Harlequin Australia also launched digital-only publishing called escapepublishing.com.au in November 2012 which is becoming very popular with independent authors from around the world.
